Stone House trio

This tribute to John Coltrane has been scheduled in conjunction with the Coltrane exhibition, November 15, 2003-January 15, 2004.

Rob Brown (alto saxophone, flute) studied saxophone under Joe Lovano and Lee Konitz. He is a member of William Parker's Quartet (appearing on the critically acclaimed "O'Neal's Porch"), Little Huey Creative Music Orchestra and In Order to Survive. He has performed and recorded with Cecil Taylor, Rashied Ali and Matthew Shipp.

Joe Morris (bass, guitar) has a highly distinctive playing style comprised of fast, single-note lines, with distinctive mid-phrase trills influenced by saxophonists like Jimmy Lyons and Eric Dolphy. He has recorded with Joe Maneri (ECM Records, Hat Hut), Ken Vandermark and DKV Trio (OkkaDisk), and Eugene Chadbourne (DIW). He currently teaches jazz and improvisation at New England Conservatory.

Luther Gray (drums) has recently recorded on Joe Morris' "Age of Everything" and is a member of indie rock group Tsunami.
