"Lineage A" is a series of poetry e-books and poet-specific listservs run by the poet. Manuscripts are available online for download. The first text, "Don't Know Alan," in the poetry e-book and listserv series "Lineage A" features a point-by-point response by Alan Davies to an open letter sent to him by Miles Champion. Champion's open letter to Davies forms part of an ongoing 'open letters to/from poets' project of Open Letter magazine, available in print and online at http://www.arts.uwo.ca/openlet/11.3/

Alan Davies is author of many works including the poetry books Rave (Roof, 1994), Candor (O Books, 1990), Name (This, 1986) and Active 24 Hours (Roof). Recent chapbooks include Sei Shonagon (Hole, 1995), and an untitled collaboration with the photographer M. M. Winterford (Zasterle, 1994). Signage, a collection of writings on and about poetry and poets was published in 1986 by Roof. Originally from Canada, Davies has lived in Boston and is currently living in New York.

Miles Champion's books include Sore Models (Sound & Language, 1995) and Three Bell Zero (Roof Books, 2000). More recent poems appear in the magazines Bombay Gin, The Capilano Review and Shiny, and in the fold-out book Mis à plat (contrat maint, 2002, French translation by Pascal Poyet).
