Richard Shusterman completed his doctoral studies in philosophy at St. John's College, Oxford University. Winner of Senior Fulbright and NEH Fellowships, he has taught in many countries and is currently Professor and Chair of Philosophy at Temple University, Philadelphia and at the Collège International de Philosophie, Paris. Outside the ordinary range of university pursuits, Shusterman is directing a project for UNESCO on urban culture, and he runs a monthly book discussion series, "Dialogues on the Square," at the Barnes and Noble bookstore on Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia.
