Among the most fearless and welcoming collaborators in European jazz, the Swiss trio KOCH-SCHÜTZ-STUDER have been performing radical and uncompromising "Hardcore Chambermusic" since 1990. Sequenced sounds and the use of live-electronics create dense walls juxtaposed with acoustic, minimalist/ambient improvisations. Their compositions evoke a rich amalgam of jazz, classical and folk forms.

Recent KOCH-SCHÜTZ-STUDER recordings include "Roots and Wires" (Intakt Records) with New York DJs I-Sound and M.Singe, "Heavy Cairo Traffic" with the renowned traditional egyptian musicians, "Fidel" with traditional Cuban musicians, and "Live im Schiffbau" with Swiss poet Christian Uetz. Hans Koch has also recorded with Paul Bley, Cecil Taylor and Butch Morris.

Hans Koch: Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet, Soprano Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Electronics, Samples, Sequencer, Composition; Martin Schütz: Electric 5string Cello, Acoustic Cello, Electronics, Samples, Sequencer, Composition; Fredy Studer: Drums, Percussion, Composition
