Please join us on Friday, October 1, 2004 from 8-10pm at Slought Foundation for a live concert by the Assif Tsahar and Tatsuya Nakatani Duo.


Assif Tsahar was born in Israel in 1969. He has lived in New York since 1990, with a degree from the Mannes College of Music at the New School. In 1998 he was awarded a young composer's grant from the Jerome Foundation. He has produced over 50 performances of creative improvised music. In 1999, Assif Started Hopscotch Records, a non-profit record label whose most recent CD, “Live at the Fundacio Juan Miro” features late bassist Peter Kowald and Sunny Murray.

Improvisational percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani was Born in Kobe, Japan in 1970 and raised in Osaka. He currently resides in New York and is a key performer in the improvised music scene. In 2003, Tatsuya performed with the Billy Bang Quintet featuring Frank Lowe, the Sabir Mateen Ensemble, Assif Tsahar, and Peter Kowald.
