Billy Dufala

Dufala is a Philadelphia-based artist and co-founder of the Recycled Artist in Residency program, which aims to create awareness about sustainability by creatively repurposing the "waste stream." He often collaborates with his brother, Steven Dufala, and also teaches a found materials course at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

The Dufala brothers have received an Obie award for set design and the international juried West Grand Prize. They are represented by Fleisher/Ollman Gallery and have exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and The Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery at Haverford College. Their recent project Funeral for a Home (2014) responded to widespread demolition in Philadelphia and generated critical discussion and action around issues of housing redevelopment and preservation.
