Gee Wesley

Born in Monrovia, Liberia, Wesley is an artist and writer living in Philadelphia. His practice addresses cultural memory, collective history and the nature of his immigrant experience.

Wesley is a graduate of Penn State Altoona where he received his degree in Visual Arts Studies. He currently works as the Spiegel-Wilks Curatorial Fellow at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, and as a lead teaching artist for Color Wheels, a mobile art education initiative organized by Fleisher Art Memorial. Wesley has been a Senior Curatorial and Research Fellow at Slought since Summer 2014.

Current projects include "The Living Library," a public art initiative and pop-up reading room exploring utopia, gift economy and alternative pedagogy.
