Jacqui Bowman

Bowman is the director of the Center for Education & Public Initiatives and the Karabots Junior Fellows Program at The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, where she develops multidisciplinary educational programming for both adults and teens. This work draws upon the world-renowned resources of the Mütter Museum and Historical Medical Library to inspire learning. Particular areas of focus are increasing the diversity of the healthcare workforce, and issues of public health in the urban environment.

In addition to her work as an educator, Bowman is also an anthropologist. She went on to complete a BSc in Archaeological Science followed by a PhD in Biological Anthropology. She has worked on numerous collections of human and primate skeletons both in England and the USA. Her speciality is life history from biological markers.

Hip2Know is a project to raise awareness of sexually transmitted infection rates in youth and to promote the personal and community benefits of getting tested.
