Sina Najafi

Najafi is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Cabinet magazine, a quarterly of arts and culture, as well as the editorial director of Cabinet Books.

He is interested in making a variety of scholarly and artistic topics accessible to the non-specialist, inspiring a culture of curiosity that encourages an ethical engagement in the world. Cabinet redefines the way we think about "novelty," pairing the historical and factual with non-prescriptive themes that range from the narrowly focused to the more interpretive and obscure. His most recent book, Curiosity and Method: Ten Years of Cabinet Magazine is an anthology that brings together some of the most interesting successes and a few instructive failures published in the first 40 issues of the magazine. He has also curated a number of art exhibitions, including "Philosophical Toys," "Odd Lots: Revisiting Gordon Matta-Clark's Fake Estates," and "The Paper Sculpture Show." He has taught courses at Cooper Union, Yale, and RISD.
